| Sex and The City DVD Movie Review Sex and the City, the movie which has had so much press and anticipation that fans have been eagerly awaiting the release date. All four girls are back on the big screen with their lives in New York revisited four years later than when the TV series concluded. I believe Sex and The City will gain mixed reviews from fans. Whether you believe that the Sex and the City series was successfully concluded in the final TV episode, this film will not disappoint. Carrie, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, remains at the heart of Sex and The City, narrating the plot about the four women who love sex, shopping and who live entertaining New York lives. As with the six series TV show, the relationship the four actresses have with each other come across in this film. All four actresses, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis give great performances. Sex and the City, the movie shows how they once again returned to having a lot of fun in the process of making this film which is both enjoyable for the actresses and the audience to watch. Sex and The City would not have worked if the original style jokes, the traditional characteristics of the characters and the overall presentation of Sex and The City: The Movie had not been kept in line with the TV series. As a film by itself, there is humour, an entertaining plot and all the cast give good engaging performances. Sex and The City does not fall short of drama, men and fashion, the key elements of the perfect girly film. The male actors of Sex and the City include Chris Noth who plays Mr. Big, the on-off lover of Carrie, David Eigenberg, who plays Miranda’ s Steve Brady, Jason Lewis as Smith Jerrod a lover of Samantha and Evan Handler who plays, Charlotte’s husband Harry. All who also give credible performances and who add to Sex and The City, giving the girls something to gossip about. If it was not for the strong male cast, Sex and The City arguably may not have been as enjoyable. Overall, Sex and the City does not disappoint. It provides much of the same lovable characters and drama as seen in the television series. Sex and The City is not a film to take your boyfriend or husband to, unless they too were a fan of the TV show, it is probably better to leave them at home. It is a perfect occasion to get a group of girls together and have a good laugh. The stupidity of the men and the challenges of friendship in combination with sex, cocktails and fashion is entertaining even if you were not a previous fan. The only downside to Sex and The City is perhaps it is a little predictable and at over 2 hours a little long. To serious Sex and The City fans, the Sex and The City movie may not be as brilliant and entertaining as you may have anticipated it to be. Nevertheless, I reckon its worth going to see!! |
