PINK PANTHER 2 REVIEW

Certificate: PG

Genre: Action

Chris' Verdict On Pink Panther 2 Review: 4/10- "I am not really a fan
of Steve Martin and I did not enjoy the first Pink Panther film so I did
expect much from Pink Panther 2. However, the film did the impossible
and was actually even worse than I have expected. I would really not
recommend going to see it."

Ellie's Verdict on Pink Panther 2 Review: 6/10- "I really enjoyed the
first Pink Panther movie but Pink Panther 2 was simply not as good. The
jokes were not really that funny and I only laughed a couple of times
throughout the whole film."

Pink Panther 2 Review

Firstly I have to say having seen Pink Panther 1 released in 2006, I have watched
it many times of DVD and often recite the jokes with my family although I must
admit that the humour is not for everyone. We found Steve Martin as Jacques
Clouseau hilarious and Jean Reno as Ponton completed the perfect double act.
We were expecting more of the same from the sequel and anticipated laughter
and fun, instead we were bored and disappointed. So, what went wrong in Pink
Panther 2?

The beautiful mysterous figure which was played by the wonderful Beyonce in the
first film is now played by Aishwarya Rai who surprisingly does not let Pink Panther
2 down, she is beautiful and plays her character to perfection. In fact, no actor or
character can be regarded as disappointing because unfortunately simply have
too little to work with to make a success of Pink Panther 2. Even the plot, was
relatively interesting or at least as interesting as the first film. However, the humour
that is so natural in the first film is almost forced and expected in the Pink Panther
2. There were moments where I was laughing as much as I did in the first film, but I
suppose, going with such high expectations and looking forward to it as much as I
did, ultimately I felt let down by Pink Panther 2.

Steve Martin who I still see as funny did not have the same connection with Jean
Reno, perhaps because the plot did not allow Clouseau and Ponton to work
together, or just that they were often joined by Ponton's two karate obsessed
sons. Like I said, the humour is obvious as Clouseau finds himself being beaten
up by the two young boys as soon as he steps through his front door. PInk
Panther 2 suffers the same fate of many other recent comedies, all the remotely
good jokes are included in the trailer.

The sweet but strange love affair between Clouseau and Nicole, played by Emily
Mortimer becomes annoying in Pink Panther 2. However, as a fan of the previous
Pink Panther film and an advocate for this type of humour I'm still glad that I went
to see Pink Panther 2. It will not be added to my DVD collection but provided a
good couple of hours on a rainy day. Unfortunately, for the Pink Panther fans
amongst you, you will have to be prepared to be disappointed by Pink Panther 2
and this review is kind compared to some of the other Pink Panther 2 reviews to
be found on the web.
