Kung Fu Panda Review:

Certificate:
PG

Genre: Animated Comedy

Who's in it: Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogan,
Jackie Chan
, Ian McShane

Chris' Verdict On Kung Fu Panda: 8/10- "There has been a lean spell
for animated films with flops like Bee Movie but Kung Fu Panda is
fantastic. The story is ridiculous as always but that does not matter.
There is humour throughout and is worth seeing."

Ellie's Verdict On Kung Fu Panda: 7/10- "I really enjoyed Kung Fu
Panda. Po is a lovable character that all good animated films need. Kung
Fu Panda has a great voice over cast and they help make Kung Fu
Panda a potential box office hit."

Kung Fu Panda Review

Kung Fu Panda surprisingly went straight to the top of the US cinema
chart when it was realised in June. Although it is not released until July
4th in the UK it is expected to be received in the same way.

The voices behind the animated characters include
Jack Black, Dustin
Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan and many more! The plot is based
on original martial arts films which have been adapted to cartoon
animals. This does not sound good however the movie is hilarious,
entertaining and always has something to capture the audience’s
attention.

By having a Panda as the main character it appears obvious to the
audience that it is not realistic for a Panda to do Kung Fu and that is the
main point of the film. The ‘furious five’ which are the famous martial art
geniuses include a snake and a tiger who are obviously more suited to
martial arts. Kung Fu Panda is funny throughout. Some scenes are
taken directly from previous martial art films such as ‘Crouching Tiger,
Hidden Dragon’.

Po the Panda who is voiced by Jack Black is lazy and works in the family
noodle shop. His dream is to become the Dragon Warrior, the best kung
fu master ever known. In an attempt to see the ‘furious five’ and the
appointment of the Dragon Warrior Po by complete accident ends up
being chosen. The ‘furious five’ who are furious at this appointment then
do all they can to prevent Po from being the true Dragon Warrior.

Kung Fu Panda will suit all ages. Young children will love it for the
animals, action and bright colours but there is also enough humour in it
for adults to be kept engaged. The plot quickens when the leopard Tai
Lung, voiced by
Ian McShane escapes from prison. Tai Lung wants a
scroll that belongs to the Dragon Warrior and therefore gives great
power. Yes the plot is predictable, it you have to remember that this is a
children’s film.

Overall the renown cast behind the animated characters and the film as
a whole makes Kung Fu Panda a must see. Whether you’re a fan of
animated films such as Toy Story and Shrek, I cannot see Kung Fu
Panda will disappoint. I would recommend this to anyone who has
children but also to anyone looking for a light hearted entertaining film to
watch.
