FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL REVIEW
Certificate: 15
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Who's in it: Kristen Bell, Russell Brand, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill, Jason Bateman and Jason
Segel
Chris' Verdict on Forgetting Sarah Marshall: 9/10- "Hilarious from start to finish. I am a big
fan of Knocked Up and Superbad so really enjoy the crude and utterly outrageous humour
in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Every member of the cast contributes which is necessary in
cast containing no real A listers. Jason Segel is convincing as a pathetic man and
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is great."
Ellie's Verdict on Forgetting Sarah Marshall: 9/10- "Outrageous but so funny. There are
some scenes of complete nudity made the whole cinema grasp. Little is left to the
imagination but that is what makes Forgetting Sarah Marshall so great. Russell Brand
basically plays himself and the cameo appearances from Paul Rudd and Jonah Hill are
excellent. Definitely worth seeing."

Forgetting Sarah Marshall Review
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is the story of Peter, a struggling musician desperately in
love with Sarah Marshall the star of a top sexy crime investigation show. Everything is
great, when she dumps him and when Peter takes a holiday to Hawaii he finds Sarah
Marshall with her new boyfriend played by Russell Brand. There is a continual
change in their relationship as things become overly complicated and Peter even
finds a new love. This film is brought to you by the makers of Knocked Up and 40
Year Old Virgin.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall sees another big screen appearance for Russell Brand.
He plays a surprisingly nice rock star who seems to want to have sex with everything.
the supposed to depict your typical British rock star and while it may not be accurate
it is funny. The main thing is review in his performance is, is he is capable of playing
any other roles and I think this is doubtable. However, in Forgetting Sarah Marshall
he is thoroughly convincing and I really enjoyed his performance. There are
priceless lines which I am sure people will be quoting for the rest of the year.
Moreover, there is another cameo from Jonah Hill the star of Superbad who also
made appearances in Knocked Up, 40 Year Old Virgin and Click. In Forgetting Sarah
Marshall he has some funny lines and makes the best of what he has contributing to
the film. There are other funny appearances from Paul Rudd and the huge natives. I
can not think of one member of the cast that did not make me laugh.
This is a romantic comedy that focuses more on comedy than romance. This film is
similar to Knocked Up as you would expect. The humour is tasteful while at times
utterly shocking and crude. However, it fits the film well and does not seem out of
place. There were at least two or three times when the full cinema were laughing
hilariously. A few moments did bring gasps and if you do not want to see a naked
man 4 or 5 times then do not go and see this film. In Forgetting Sarah Marshall there
is plenty of romance as the lead toils between his original love Sarah Marshall and
his new love. There is little of slushy romance which you normally find in boring
romantic comedies.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall is likely to offend some people. There is plenty of
swearing, nudity and sex references galore. I would say this film is more suited to a
teenage demographic rather than mature adults. Forgetting Sarah Marshall does not
hold anything back and most of the time does not bother to disguise what it wants to
say, which is fantastic.
As with most films of this genre the plot is not the greatest. Nevertheless, there is
enough to keep you interested and the comedy throughout meant I did not really
mind about the plot. It was slightly predictable but not as obvious as most films in this
genre. Although Forgetting Sarah Marshall is relatively long it flew by, a bit like
writing this review.
Overall, I really enjoyed this film and can not think of any way I could improve it. It
shocked the audience, there was enough to keep you interested and it was utterly
hilarious. It is definitely more suited a teenage audience but I think older people
could still enjoy it. If you liked Knocked Up then you will love Forgetting Sarah
Marshall.
