Genre: Action/ Children's fanatsy

Who's in it: Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley, William Moseley, Skandar
Keynes, Anna Popplewell

Chris' Verdict On Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian: 7/10-
"Prince Caspian is packed with action and brutal battles which make the
two hours fly by! I'd say Prince Caspian is so much better than the
previous Chronicles of Narnia, Lion Witch and the Wardrobe"

Ellie's Verdict On Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian: 7.5/10-
"I found Prince Caspian scary, lacking the more lovable characters of Mr
Tumnus and the beavers seen in the previous Chronicles of Narnia. I
personally would have been terrified if I was a young kid watching Prince
Caspian in the cinema. "

Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Review

The Chronicles of Narnia the second instalment is Prince Caspian. The same four
children, Peter played by
William Moseley, Susan played by Anna Popplewell,
Edmund played by
Skandar Keynes and Lucy played by Georgie Henley all return to
the big screen. The film is set a year later where they accidentally  find themselves
back in Narnia. Unexpectedly in the time of a year, more than  300 years have
passed in Narnia. Not only this, the previous upbeat film  in which Narnia was thriving
has changed. The four children remain a kind of legend, seen as able to return
Narnia to happiness like they did thousands of years ago. With the absence of the
old characters of Mr Tumnus and the Beavers that carried the last film in providing
lovable characters for both the children in the film and in the audience, this film
remains darker and gloomier than the Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe film.

Prince Caspian played by
Ben Barnes, needs the children to help him to defeat his
evil and quite terrifying  uncle Miraz. The lovable characters of the beavers and Mr.
Tumuns are replaced in Prince Caspian by a courageous dwarf called Trumpkin
played by
Peter Dinklage, a black dwarf called Nikabrik, played by Warwick Davis, a
badger, voiced by
Ken Stott and an amiable mouse called Reepicheep, with the
voice of
Eddie Izzar. All these characters who aid the children throughout give the
film a magical touch which the children will love. However, if I was a child viewing this
film at the cinema, there would be time where I’d terrified. The struggle to return
Narnia to its rightful King includes many battles and scenes in which are dark and
gloomy.

The numerous battles in Prince Caspian are brutal and could be quite upsetting for a
young child, despite the certificate of this film expected to be a PG. Aslan, voiced
Liam Neeson the lion who in the previous film, Lion Witch and the Wardrobe shows
his power and respect. In this film Prince Caspian, he appears very little, he allows
bloodshed and for the children to reach a state of desperation before coming to their
rescue. Without giving away the plot, Prince Caspian, based on the C. S Lewis novel
is arguably much better than the previous film, released in 2005. With more action
and with the children more mature and comfortable with their role, the overall film is
better. Price Caspian, has been compared to Lord of the Rings, Return of the King,
with many mystical fighting one another for their kingdom. It is fair to say that Prince
Caspian is arguably as dark as Lord of the Rings but I personally believe is cannot
be compared. Critics have given Prince Caspian mixed reviews, however, overall this
film is seen as more believable and entertaining than the previous sequel Lion, Witch
and the Wardrobe.
