Transformers:
Certificate: 12A
Genre: Action/thriller
Who's in it: Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight
Chris' Verdict on Transformers: 8/10- "Good vs Evil. It is the
ultimate battle that is repeated in nearly early action movie.
Transformers are split into the evil transformers lead by Megatron
and the good transformers led by Optimus Prime. If you are into
this kind of action movie you will find the fight scenes between the
Transformers. If not there is plenty of humour, action and
romance to keep you interested."
Ellie's Verdict on Transformers: 9/10- "SO much better than I
was expecting! Great- start to finish! I am never normally a fan of
Sci-fi action movie but Transformers was fantastic. There was
actually everything I could think of that makes a good film!"

Transformers Review
The idea of a film based on mechanical objects arriving from outer space that can
turn into cars and have names, sounds terrible! However, Michael Bay has done it
again, producing a blockbuster and winning his personal duel with Bruce Willis.
Sam Witwicky, (Shia LaBeouf) is the main character and plays his role brilliantly.
The film starts with Sam trying to sell his grandfather's possessions as a class
project. Little does he know that machines would travel thousands of light-years to
attain a pair of glasses he possesses to destroy a cube of energy and stop a
machine called Megatron. Sam goes onto buy a car from a 2nd hand car dealer
(Bernie Mac) who gives the old story of the car chooses the man not the man
choosing the car. However, in this case the car does choose Sam. It is not long
before Sam realises that his car has a mind of its own and follows it realising that it
turns into a full size machine. The car's exploits provide humour throughout
especially with its choice of songs on the radio.
As with most films of this genre these days there is a girl (Rachel Taylor, who puts
in a good performance), good guys and bad guys. The other 'auto bots' sent to
help recover the glasses also provides much amusement and the big lumps of
metal become human. Along the way the American government interfere in a
typically horrific way and the main focus switches from the search for the glasses
but instead for the "cube".
Ultimately, the film turns into a battle between the good of Optimus Prime (Peter
Cullen) and the evil of the mighty Megatron (Hugo Weaving). This film is definitely
worth going to see. The action sequences are amazing though maybe rushed at
times, there is humour throughout which is uncommon for films of this genre and
credit must go to Michael Bay for creating another blockbuster.
