Mirrors marks another big screen Hollywood appearance for the star of the US TV series 24, Kiefer
department store that is home to several mirrors. After the scene has been set, the music changes and
things become more sinister as it becomes clear that the 'Mirrors' are trying to send him a message and
they will go to great lengths to get their message across. There are few other distinguished cast members
and it does show at some stages when the lack lustre acting ability begins to shine through.

As far as horror films go, this a pretty scary film and is definitely not one to watch late at night, when you
are home alone, particularly if house is full of mirrors! The whole notion of the film is a good one and the
use of the mirrors is definitely a good idea, that has been used before and will probably be exploited in
future horror films. While I admit I do not know the technical terms for the different types of music and I do
not know what horror music is supposed to be like but, I do think that the music used in this film is brilliant
and really adds to the whole scary aura. For me, if I see a good horror film in the cinema then there needs
to be plenty of gasps, a few screams and plenty of people hiding behind their jackets. Mirrors delivered in
all these areas. Unfortunately, there are a number of other areas where Mirrors disappoints. As the film
progresses we are given more and more clues about why and how the Mirrors are doing what they are
doing. As you begin to piece the story together and come to my own conclusions about the plot, the film
begins to fall about and lose all continuity. The clues begin to make less and less sense and the ultimately
the ending did not fit with the rest of the story and I still have no idea what actually caused the story to
unfold as it did.

Kiefer Sutherland has come under scrutiny for some of his previous Hollywood films, like The Sentinel
among others. His performance in the Mirrors was surprisingly good and very convincing. The
performance was engaging and genuinely scary at times. Perhaps, Sutherland may want to consider
choosing similar roles in the future and possibly steer clear of the action roles that he is accustomed to.
There were some very graphic scenes, in particular the bath scene, which may disturb some viewers and
even make some of the more queasy members of the audience feel a bit ill. The fact that the Mirrors is so
scary may mean that the box office figures can be deceptive because of a number of people will steer
clear of the Mirrors. Ultimately, if you are a fan of horror movies and if you think you can handle the Mirrors
then I would recommend going to see it. However, if you are easily disturbed and scared I would not
recommend seeing this film. Mirrors is one of the best horrors film I have seen in a long time.
