| High School Musical 3 DVD Review High School Musical 3- the Senior Year sees Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan and the rest of the gang unite once again. Its the last year of High School and they're enjoying their time before they graduate. The questions of which college to study at or which degree to major in are combined with prom, the last school musical project and of course basket ball. There are plenty of new songs and some of the old favourite as well. If you have seen the other High School Musical films then you will know what to expect. For those of you that have not seen the other films then I will explain what you should anticipate. The main focus of the film is a small group of friends who play basketball, sing, supposedly act and dance a lot. Admittedly, this film review may be slightly biased because I am not normally a fan of musicals and definitely not a High School Musical fan. The first thing to consider with most films is the plot and whether it is good enough to attract the attention of the audience. For me, there does not seem to be much of a plot. The plot that there is, is predictable throughout and very cliche in places. I was left cringing at some of the dialogue and laughing because some parts are so bad that it is funny. However, the fact that certain aspects of the film were so bad that it was funny meant I did enjoy the film to some degree. Another part of the film to examine is the acting/ singing ability of the cast. With regards to acting, there is very little and it is not a surprise that nearly all of Efron's major roles have come in musicals. However, he is in line to make an appearance in the next Pirate of the Carribbean film so maybe we should wait till then before we just his acting ability because in High School Musical he and the rest of the cast have very little to work with. Ultimately, like many of Disney's latest creations, this film is definitely tailored to a very young audience. For an older audience uninspired by the looks of Zac Efron, the poor songs, terrible acting and dreary plot may be all too much. Older women with a child inside them may still want to relive their childhood and will possibly enjoy this film. For men, do not see this film! Vanessa Hudgens is not watching this film for. Overall, I would only recommend High School Musical 3 for girls under the age of 15 or maybe even lower. |
