Denzel Washington makes this film! The film focuses on a bomb that destroyed a
boat and killed hundreds of people. Denzel Washington in trying to solve the crime
comes into contact with a team developing the ability to travel back to a point in
time exactly a week ago. Denzel Washington decides to plunge into the past and
stop the disaster happening. From start to finish he keeps you entertained and
combined with Adam Goldberg the film is a huge success.
The plot contains action, trauma and romance and keeps the audience in
suspense right till the closing scenes.
The beginning shows a ferry with crew and families being blown up which then is
followed by a huge investigation. In order to solve this mystery new technology is
used to look back a little over four days into the past, hence the name “Déjà vu”.
Not only do they try and use the equipment to solve the mystery but also use it to
travel back in time and not only prevent the bombing but also the murder of a local
woman whose truck is used by the bombers.
Although this sounds unrealistic, the film does not appear to be so. I was kept on
the edge of my seat right until the very end. The ending is reasonably predictable
but the film is well constructed and everything fits together nicely. Deja Vu is
another success for Denzel Washington who only seems to make good films.
